The Violet Hour

I’m thrilled that Editor Steliana Voicu chose to honor my haiku with her Editor’s Choice commentary in Enchanted Garden Haiku Journal Issue 16: Lunae Feeria:

budding stars
a firefly yellows
the violet hour

And here are Steliana’s thoughtful comments on my haiku:

You know that moment after sunset, but before the night completely falls? The stars are faint, it starts to see them better, that’s when the stars are budding. They are like little bourgeons. What a lovely use of the color pallete, one of the three pairs of complementary colors is yellow-violet, a pair so suitable for summer. When the lights turn off, a firefly lights on among the purple shades of a peaceful corner. The tangible meets the intangible. So beautiful picture!
