Traces of Rain

This haiku captures an “in-the-moment” experience, portraying the act of stepping out of a storm and folding a dripping wet umbrella, leaving traces of rain where it otherwise wouldn’t reach—a moment many can relate to. If this haiku evokes a visceral memory, it has served its purpose.

My thanks to Jeff Hoagland and the editors of The Heron’s Nest for including my haiku in their September 2025 issue.
