Wild Orchids

A Collection of Haiku & Senryu

Spring is just around the corner, and I’m delighted to share that my third poetry collection, Wild Orchids: A Collection of Haiku & Senryu, will be available in paperback and ebook formats on March 15, 2026, just ahead of World Poetry Day on March 21.

Wild Orchids brings together 300 contemporary haiku and senryu, each carefully crafted in the free-form style. The collection is organized into two sections. The haiku, 200 poems in all, are arranged across five chapters: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Muki (without season). The senryu gather in their own dedicated section of 100 poems, exploring the comedy, tragedy and satire of human nature.

Among the 300 poems, 30 have been previously published in poetry journals and anthologies, chosen by editors who share a dedication to the craft.

Where my first two collections, Haiku Traditions and Haiku Evolution, offered introductions to each poetry form, Wild Orchids trusts the poems to speak for themselves. This book is pure poetry – 300 moments distilled to their essence. Pause with them. Let them settle. Return to them later and see what they reveal.

The book will be available in paperback and ebook versions in over 35 countries wherever books are sold online. At 180 pages, the paperback costs more to print, but I’m keeping the price the same as my previous releases. Ebook prices have been reduced across the board in all countries.

Kindle pre-orders and the first few weeks of paperback orders on Amazon help boost the title’s ranking in their “Hot New Releases” section, which helps me greatly. If you’re considering purchasing a copy, the first week is the best time to grab one. I’ll have links posted here and on my BOOKS page as soon as they become active.
